D.C. Sake cō
We like to say we have been quietly changing how Washington, DC drinks. I grew up in Kyoto, Japan, and have called the DC area home for more than twenty years. In 2006, I founded an event management and consulting business. Since then I’ve served as a bridge between Japanese and American businesses, working with institutions like the National Cherry Blossom Festival and the Embassy of Japan. In June 2020, I launched D.C. Sake cō, the city's first local online shop dedicated entirely to Japanese beverages. The "cō" stands for collaboration, community, and connection. I am passionate about bringing people together through sake. I’m not a sake expert, but I love sharing amazing Japan. As the dining scene in DC keeps growing, sake's moment in DC will grow. It is just getting started.
